**Job Scope and Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for breakfast and special events, in accordance with hotel standards and guest expectations.
- Ensure all meals are cooked to the highest quality and presented attractively.
- Preparing food ingredients, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, slicing & etc.
- Properly washing and drying all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments and cutting boards.
- Neatly putting away all utensils, cooking instruments, dishes, and cutting boards in their respective places.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to standards of hygiene.
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies. Removing garbage, replacing garbage bags, and washing garbage bin.
- Mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas as required.
- Storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.
- To ensure the kitchen area is dry and clean.
- Any other ad hoc task assigned by superior.
- Report directly to hotel owner on all kitchen and culinary-related matters
- To be fully in charge of all matters relating to the kitchen during kitchen operation hours
- Monitor and minimize food, equipment and kitchen operating costs
- Ensure and enforce high hygiene standards among all staff working within the kitchen
- Develop breakfast and lunchtime menus for the hotel restaurant in collaboration with the hotel owner and other hotel executive team members
- To supervise team of kitchen helpers during operation hours
- To train kitchen helpers to become fully capable of work required in the kitchen

**Requirements**:

- Extensive knowledge in the creation and preparation of local (Malaysian), Western and pastry dishes.
- Ability to cook a wide range of local (Malaysian), Western and pastry dishes.
- Extensive knowledge on how to source high-quality ingredients
- Ability to work closely with inventory purchaser and hotel owner to obtain the best quality materials and ingredients within a given kitchen budget
- Ability to keep records of and track kitchen inventory
- 1 year of experience in a Chef de Partie role
- Kitchen Management experience of any kind a big bonus
- Certifications in Food Hygiene and Kitchen Management courses a big bonus

**We’re looking for someone with**:

- A love for trial and error, learning new skills, and to improve the hotel’s culinary offerings
- A strong commitment to the hotel’s standards and creating a rewarding customer experience

**Salary Range**: RM 1500 - RM1,700

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible or on 27/05/2024

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM1,500.00 - RM1,700.00 per month

Expected hours: 25 per week
