Carries out guestroom servicing/maintenance works according to the established schedule and high-quality of finishing work. Operates assigned machines/equipment or ‘Primary Plant’ as to provide continuous and consistent utilities required for operations. Carries out and completed all maintenance requests on time and paid particular attention to guest-related jobs. Assists in monitoring and controlling all utility consumption ensuring optimum energy usage by all departments of the hotel Assists in monitoring energy efficiency of all equipment; makes recommendations and advise for energy savings to reduce wastage. Provides engineering assistance for all special requests from other operational departments as per approved function request sheets. Reports any abnormal conditions noticed at any time in line with safety-related equipment or installation to Chief Engineer Modifies installations to minimize waste of material and provide access for future maintenance. Performs repairs and maintenance work to all guest rooms, public and services areas of the hotel to ensure they are well maintained Provide courteous and professional services at all times. Specific Daily Task Supervises the repair, maintenance, and engineering operations according to departmental standards. Properly handles and maintains all power tools. Assists other Maintenance Supervisors or Handy Persons when requested by Superior. Modifies installations to minimize waste of material and provide access for future maintenance. Avoids unsightly hazards and complies with all local regulations and codes. Ensures cleanliness of all work areas and protects the surroundings when executing duties. Performs repairs and maintenance work to all guest rooms, public and service areas of the hotel to ensure they are well maintained. Regularly inspects the entire building with particular attention on defective or deficient life safety features and observes closely the condition of all operating equipment. Specific attention must be placed on areas of difficult access. Executes Effective Management of the Preventive Maintenance Programme. Ensures effective energy conservation measures in areas of operations. Ensures fire, life, and safety systems are operational. Ensures effective service recovery pertaining to guests’ feedback. Reviews and approves all invoices and Purchase Requests involving Technical Services and installations, machinery, parts, and audio-visual equipment etc. Assists in ensuring that the property, its systems, and the operational procedures comply with all the prevailing local and national codes, notifying to Chief Engineer of areas of non-compliance, if any. Works closely with other Department Heads in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests. Maintains trolley with proper tools and materials to complete duties. Maintains the engineering store and keeps close control on the consumption of materials and inventory. Strictly adheres to all safety regulations at all times. Focus on the energy efficiency concept. Maintains the Engineering Daily Logbook. Ensures services provided by the Engineering are always available and are always carried out to defined standards with the utmost efficiency, consistency, and courtesy as detailed in the Department Standard Operation Procedures. Ensures high standards of personal presentation & grooming.
