**Responsibilities**:

- Position Summary
- The Business Assurance Lead drives effective and efficient assurance activities to ensure compliance with KPOC and PETRONAS policies and procedures as well as legislative requirements; promote best practices and business improvement initiatives to ensure internal control requirements are met. The incumbent will design the assurance programs and activities to provide the safeguard towards this objective.
- Principle Accountabilities
- 1. Design, develop and program-manage the integration of KPOC’s business assurance activities across the lines of businesses and ensure risks are promptly highlighted with mitigation plans in place.
- 2. Perform Tier 2 assurance activities across the lines of businesses to ensure compliance to PETRONAS and KPOC policies and procedures, Joint Operating Agreement and legislative requirements. In addition, report the results of the Tier 2 assurance and track action plans closure.
- 3. This role shall also coordinate the preparation on KPOC readiness for Tier 3 assurance activities led by external parties and with internal focal from the functions i.e. Operations, Development, HSSE and Support functions i.e. SCM, IT, HR etc., critically challenge auditors opinion when necessary, monitor and follow-up for proper closure of any findings.
- 4. Evaluate opportunities for continuous improvement activities across KPOC - create, lead, embed improvements and value delivery to support KPOC in meeting its business targets.
- 5. Engage and challenge the lines of businesses in designing, maintaining and enhancing fit for purpose systems and processes including liaising with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and independent reviewers to execute improvement plans.
- 6. Provide regular overview to the Leadership Team on assurance activities, status updates and assurance outcomes.
- 7. Maintain effective interfaces with external auditors i.e. Shareholders’ Group & PETRONAS and provide aggregation and dissemination of learnings from audits and assurance reviews especially mitigating further shortfalls and action plan closeouts.
- 8. Lead or participate in After Action Review or any other independent and investigative reviews as required.
- 9. Act as SME for Business Assurance related processes, tools & systems.
- **Requirements**:

- 1. University degree (business or engineering) or equivalent.
- 2. Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Oil & Gas Upstream business.
- 3. Minimum five (5) years of extensive exposure to practical operations and assurance processes in complex production assets in Upstream Oil & Gas.
- 4. Ability to build effective working relationships at senior levels in the business is essential. Facilitate compliance with KPOC’s standards and policies across the organization.
- 5. Experienced in audit and assurance processes is a must.
- 6. Understand business demand and able to utilize different sources of external and internal information to support the business in identifying and prioritizing assurance & performance improvement areas.
- 7. High personal integrity with track record of courage and diplomacy and who can go to the extra mile when required. Ability to provide honest assessments to senior management in stressful circumstances is a required trait.
