Purpose of Role

Key Responsibilities
- taking responsibility for the progress of a class.
- organizing the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment
- planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class
- motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative lessons
- maintaining discipline
- preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development
- meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development
- providing feedback to parents and careers on a pupil's progress at parents' evenings and other meetings
- coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
- working with others to plan and coordinate work
- plan and run a weekly CCA
- become involved in organising at least one whole school event

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
- Have a recognized teaching qualification (e.g. PGDT, PGCEi or similar);
- Have experience and excellent knowledge of teaching students across Key Stage 3 and 4;
- Have significant experience working with students for whom English is not their first language, including those with very little English at all;
- Have a minimum of 3years of teaching experience;
- Be willing to participate in educational visits;
- Use a wide range of strategies to assess and support language acquisition;
- Be asked to run one after school activity each term;
- Have a positive and solution finding approach to their working life;
- Appreciate the joys and challenges of working in an international school environment;
