Responsible for managing the routine medical activity, delivery of professional and effective medical assistance services for all clients to the highest standards of excellence in conjunction with the Regional Medical Director, doctors and nurses within our International Operations team to ensure appropriate medical outcome and financial compliance according to current standards to affect a positive case outcome.
Be part of an integral cross-functional clinical team comprised of nurses and doctors that facilitates the delivery of healthcare information focusing and ensuring clinical quality and the highest level of member satisfaction on all cases.
**Medical Assistance Service and Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for designated ongoing medical related tasks required on all medical assistance cases and medical due diligence with respect to designated medical assistance cases on all transmissions
- Assess each designated case with respect to its medical elements and facilitate medical due diligence
- Provision of assistance with referrals and retrospective claims assessments as required
- Responsible for ensuring that there is an appropriate medical handover of cases at the beginning/ end of each shift
- Assist with clear case direction during the daily Alarm Centre transmission handover process
- To complete telephonic nursing consultations and monitor patients throughout the world
- Provision of assistance with the organization of medical evacuations and transportation of patients
- Monitor the medical aspects of patient evacuations and repatriations
- Work in consultation with other members of the team, to provide coordinated care of patients
**Medical Liaison and Reporting**:
- Collect relevant medical information to produce focused professional medical summary that effectively communicated medical information to all clients
- Professionally communicate verbally and/or in writing to the relevant parties/clients of the progress of the patient&rsquos condition. Discuss appropriate medical management and dispositional recommendations with Regional Medical Director
- Undertake responsibility for the medical information released from the Alarm Centre.
- Provides clinical support and guidance to support staff regarding case related inquiries
- Undertake direct contact with relevant treating medical team as appropriate to expedite the case&rsquos management
- Undertake public relations calls as required to ensure good communication with all parties and to promote clear understanding with patients, families, clients etc.
- Maintain high standards for detailed and accurate documentation including the consistent updating of case files
- Positively promote the work of the company
- Review case records and report results to evaluate quality of services delivered in compliance with company&rsquos practice and industry standard
**Expert Medical Opinion**:
- Maintains availability within shift for scheduling of member intakes via live telephone transfers.
- Obtains a comprehensive medical history by leading members through a systematic and dynamic intake assessment to capture all relevant data regarding their current condition and health history
- Advocate to members the most appropriate service available to them based on their medical condition sets appropriate member expectations for each process
- Supports programme by writing clinical vignettes
- Ensures clear and thorough documentation on disease specific templates as well as within each case
- Coordinate and oversee the collection and delivery of medical records and related information
- Works in partnership fellow nursing colleagues as needed in support of case development
- Works with other department/unit to ensure adequate phone coverage for live/warm transfers of members and to ensure member&rsquos scheduled call back appointments are met on time
- Prevent and mitigate case delays
- Identify root cause and provide possible solution to problems escalated by junior staff
**Medical Evacuation and Repatriation**:
- Maintain standard of practice consistent with the Malaysia Nursing Council
- Operate clinically within boundaries of the professional licenses
- Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and customer friendly manner
- Comply with AA International Hub&rsquos Procedures and Processes
- Undertake medical retrieval services as required
- Undertake periodical skills assessment testing in life support courses and other identified skills
- Work in consultation with other members of the team, to provide coordinated care of patients
- Liaise with medical departments of airlines for passenger medical clearance in coordination with the Regional Medical Director
- Ensure equipment are adequate, ready, and available 24/7 to undertake all medical retrieval services
- Report and escalate technical challenges regarding medical equipment to the Team Lead and Nurse Manager
