Job Description:

The Head of Organizational Development will lead the Human Resources function to build Penang organizational capability for business success. The scope covers areas of employee relations, workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefit, employee retention, culture and engagement, coaching/development, legal compliance and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the HR department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy.
  2. Lead HR function to implement the strategy in talent acquisition, talent development, talent management and talent retention to build the organizational capability and achieve all the goals and KPIs.
  3. Drive for HR operational excellence and ensure all the HR practices comply with local law, regulations, and SOX.
  4. Work as a strategic partner with the senior management team to drive the company's growth through transformation management, talent reviews, succession planning, structure development and culture change.
  5. Provide leadership and mentoring to the next level of staff to ensure proper succession planning and people development.
  6. Build a strong HR organization and capabilities to provide HR expertise. Actively develop HR team members.
  7. Develop strategy and provide directions for the department to be forward looking to the changing environment in the industry.
  8. Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the employee experience and partner with management to develop and implement innovative and lasting solutions.
  9. Build a positive work environment that supports innovation, creativity and teamwork in the company.
  10. Participate as a key member of the management team in influencing the vision & strategic directions of the company.
  11. Be a catalyst and evangelist for culture to ensure all employees live by the values defined in Vision, Mission and Values.
  12. Partner effectively with both internal and external HR parties to design and roll out innovative HR solutions.
  13. Develop programs to partner with learning institutions and government bodies to attract top talents to fill up the talent pipeline.
