Backend Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Backend Equipment Technician to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment used in our Backend Process.
Your primary focus will be on performing electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with non-functioning equipment. You will also provide manufacturing and equipment support needs in a rapidly changing development and high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment used in Backend Process.
- Provide manufacturing and equipment support needs in a rapidly changing development and high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to schematics, repair manuals, or specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting diagnosis on production equipment.
- Resolve non-standard problems, work with minimal supervision, and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
- Must be a self-starter capable of managing own activities as well as supporting team activities.
- Work with Engineering to support new equipment installations and improvement initiatives.
Education: Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical / Electronics / Mechatronics preferred
Skills:
- Proficient at troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PC software/hardware related issues.
- Ability to use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair of equipment.
- Ability to understand PLC system.
- Ability to use vision system will be an added advantage.
- Self-motivator; ability to work independently under general guidance and direction.
- High level attention to detail with methodical approach to troubleshooting and project management.
- Provide leadership to other technicians through training and mentorship.
- Drive solutions and guidelines by recommending and writing maintenance procedures.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with peers, engineering, and managers.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root cause, and drive factory improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of Auto VMI, Auto Labeling and Auto Packing equipment/process would be an added advantage.
