Job Description:
This role is responsible for managing payroll operations across multiple APJ countries, ensuring compliance with local labor and payroll regulations. Key duties include liaising with payroll vendors, handling employee payroll inquiries, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, conducting wellness benefits audits, and ensuring timely payroll-related payments. The position also involves collaborating with HR, finance teams, and auditors while maintaining accurate financial records.
  1. Understand labor/payroll related rules and regulations in the APJ countries.
  2. Liaise with payroll vendors in Singapore, Australia, Japan, India, and Malaysia to complete monthly payroll cycles.
  3. Handle payroll-related issues raised by employees from these countries.
  4. Liaise with HR and cost centre owners on any special arrangements.
  5. Frontline handling of employees' queries on all payroll questions, including payroll taxes, pay slips, bonuses, and commissions.
  6. Understand and manage payroll processes relating to starters and resigners.
  7. Conduct yearly staff wellness benefits audit checks.
  8. Prepare payroll-related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting models as a key participant in the financial close process.
  9. Prepare banking journal entries on all payroll-related transactions.
  10. Complete Floqast checklist and reconciliations.
  11. Prepare cash flow forecasts on payroll-related costs monthly.
  12. Understand department and location concepts.
  13. Ensure payroll-related payments (salaries, payroll taxes, social costs) are paid on time without delays.
  14. Able to answer payroll-related queries raised by auditors.
  15. Other responsibilities or projects assigned by the group manager or APJ finance controller.
