About the Role

This mid-senior level position requires a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in life and health insurance underwriting with authority limits exceeding MYR 4,000,000. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach towards tasks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing prudent underwriting for individual life proposals, reviewing referrals from underwriters with lower authority limits, guiding junior underwriters, and assisting in the research and development of new products and business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough underwriting analysis for individual life proposals
  • Review and counter-sign referrals from underwriters with lower authority limits
  • Mentor and guide junior underwriters to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of new products and business opportunities

Requirements

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Science, Genetics, Biochemistry, or Nursing
  • Minimum 8-10 years working experience in life and health insurance underwriting with authority limit exceeding MYR 4,000,000
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Demonstrate good analytical skills and ability to identify significant factors from large volumes of data
