The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of delivery and experience in risk management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk Management Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk management policies and procedures, aligning them with industry best practices.
  • Proactive Risk Mitigation: Drive internal initiatives to effectively manage and close risk events within established timeframes.
  • Data-Driven Reporting: Produce regular reports for management and relevant governance bodies, providing valuable insights into risk profile and mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to risk management, fostering a culture of risk awareness.
  • Risk Register Management: Maintain accurate risk and risk event registers, adhering to internal procedures and ensuring a clear picture of potential threats.
  • Portfolio Risk Monitoring: Continuously monitor both client and company equity portfolio risk in real-time, implementing proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Risk Modeling Expertise: Develop various risk models for equity products to better assess and manage potential financial exposures.
  • Strengthening Risk Controls: Work to strengthen and improve Information Technology (IT) related risk management controls, identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with hardware, software, networks, and cybersecurity threats.
  • Control Assessments: Regularly assess the effectiveness and efficiency of technology internal controls, ensuring they meet regulatory expectations and best practices in areas like Risk Management in Technology (RMiT), Information Security, Data Security, Network Security, and Cybersecurity frameworks like NIST.
  • Independent Risk Assessments: Independently perform technology risk assessments, identify control gaps, and propose risk mitigation strategies aligned with best practices within the Stockbroking and Fintech industry.
  • Third-Party Vendor Risk: Evaluate the performance of Third-party vendor systems to ensure they meet risk management standards.
  • Financial Loss Mitigation: Analyze security vulnerabilities and identify opportunities to close gaps, minimizing the risk of financial losses due to cyber threats.
