Job Overview

Summary: The Line Lead is responsible for performing a specific set of leadership duties in the assigned work production line to prepare and maintain daily production reports, expedite orders, enter labor reports on computer, and ensure a quality standard throughout the department to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist and monitor employees in job performance, answer questions, maintain action log, and provide input to Area Lead on employee's job performance.
  2. Maintain production schedules by ensuring that each line is set-up per the prescribed line layout, has proper equipment, fixturing, tools, proper prints, in-process inspection sheets, and work instructions at the beginning of each shift, after line changeover, and during the shift.
  3. Ensure proper cleanup and housekeeping standards are met.
  4. Identify and report any unsafe equipment or practices.
  5. Model good work habits, including quality, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  6. Implement Quality System procedures and enforce company policies and safety regulations consistently.
  7. Complete all required documentation as per department work instructions.
  8. Ensure suspect or reject material is quarantined and handled according to Quality System procedures.
  9. Make decisions and accept responsibility for operations related to assigned lines.
  10. Participate in 1st piece inspections for products as directed.
  11. Set and track quantity goals, sharing results with Area Lead.
  12. Foster a collaborative team environment within the Production Line.
  13. Work closely with production control to adapt to schedule changes.
  14. Communicate relevant issues to Area Lead promptly.
  15. Process production paperwork efficiently and accurately.
  16. Perform other duties and assignments as required.
Requirements
  1. Proficiency in personal computers and software applications.
  2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  3. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  4. Experience working with MRP systems and inventory management.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Able to motivate and lead operators to meet production targets.
  7. Basic computer and math skills.
  8. Comprehensive knowledge of production procedures and processes.
Education / Experience
  1. High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  2. Ongoing education and training opportunities.
  3. Minimum 3-12 months experience in production environments.
