Electrical Design Expertise

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Lead to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our electrical design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of electrical designs, from initial concepts to meticulous detailing.

Your expertise will span across creating design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents for design projects. You will also review materials prepared by junior engineers and provide guidance and supervision to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities will include preparing comprehensive design reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules. You will also execute on-site electrical service surveys with precision and collaborate with Professional Engineers to establish connections, prepare, and follow up on Authority Submissions.

Furthermore, you will foster relationships and coordinate with Clients, Architects, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, System Contractors, Civil Contractors, QS professionals, and more to bring electrical building service designs to life. As a Project Manager, you will oversee projects from their conceptual stages to their successful completion.

Requirements
  1. Possession of a Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  2. A minimum of 7 to 10 years of design experience, specifically within the context of construction or infrastructure projects, commensurate with relevant expertise.
  3. Proficiency in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process, including the ability to execute design projects within a BIM environment, manage information on a shared data platform, establish workflows for MEP modeling, produce sheet drawings, and manage asset data.
  4. Prior experience in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure projects, such as metro and railways, is highly desirable.
  5. Proven experience in executing design and construction projects within a BIM environment, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of BIM tools such as REVIT and CAD.
  6. Proficiency in working with BIM at different levels of detail, including 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, and Levels of Development (LODs) ranging from 200 to 400.
  7. Demonstrated experience in conducting virtual coordination with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
  8. Experience in coordinating system interfaces and managing multidisciplinary interfaces.
  9. Familiarity with local building codes and the procedures for submitting designs to relevant authorities.
  10. A collaborative team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  11. Ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to junior engineers.
  12. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  13. Strong technical writing skills.
  14. Proficiency in the use of specialized engineering software, including Dialux, Hevacomp, Ricoda, Amptech/ETAP.
