Agensi Pekerjaan VSMAS Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Quality and Laboratory to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance
    • Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure products meet required specifications for quality prior to delivery.
    • Develop plans to manage waste by reducing or reusing waste.
    • Initiate investigations on non-compliance products or processes and follow up on action status until closure.
  • Laboratory Operations
    • Supervise daily activities of the quality and laboratory department.
    • Ensure laboratory test results are completed and compiled on time, and provide timely feedback of the results to production for the next action.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of laboratory equipment and laboratory area.
  • Training and Development
    • Train quality staff, laboratory technicians, and production staff.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback and appraisal for individual development.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate quality standards and parameters to QA team, production team, and other appropriate staff.
    • Participate in production process and initiate improvement plans to assure the right quality is produced consistently.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify and analyze issues, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur, recommend and facilitate solutions to these issues.
    • Maintain a list of equipment and schedule all inspection, measuring, and test equipment for calibration or verification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science.
  • Five years of experience in a related field required, with supervisory experience a plus.
  • Knowledge in operating laboratory testing equipment, such as Tensile machines, Oxygen Permeability Analyzers, and Water Vapour Permeability Analyzers.
  • Experience in the plastic packaging industry is preferred, and knowledge in production processes.
  • Ability to manage and maintain BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and HACCP systems in a multinational organization – mandatory requirement.
  • Preferable Chinese candidates with BRC/FSSC/HACCP experience.
