About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Services Director to join our team at K2 STRATEGIC. As a Critical Environment Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management support of an operational Critical environment shift team providing 24/7/365 on-site support of a production data centre facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for emergency response and maintenance of critical services within the data center environment. You will lead the supervision of the FOC and the shift during your working day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the designated shift team, ensuring the successful operation, maintenance and repair of all critical environment systems while maintaining 100% uptime to all critical power systems on site at all times.
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure all aspects of the shift & facility are covered & monitored during your day. Ensure all necessary paperwork associated with planned maintenance visits of vendors is completed and in place for your shift team.
  • Prioritize and assign PPM's /TT's planned & unplanned work orders to your shift Data Center Specialists to achieve & maintain 100% compliance every month.
  • Enforce adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the domain.
  • Coordinate ongoing maintenance and activities within the Data Centre for your shift team. Maintain full overview & awareness of all activities and prioritize these activities in conjunction with the Critical Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure all subcontractors are inducted and permitted to work within the domain prior to issuing permits to work.
  • Review subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures prior to issuing permits to works.
  • Monitor and ensure that the FOC is manned at all times and that EPMS, BMS, and Fire Systems alarms are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Verify completion of all your shift team's scheduled PMs and ensure that all your shift Data Centre Specialists carry out their scheduled PMs in a timely manner to achieve 100% PM compliance.
  • Update and log all activities/time on CAFM. Ensure your shift team updates & records all their time/activities on CAFM.
  • Generate a daily Shift Handover report detailing activities and issues that require escalation.
  • Ensure you wear K2's provided clothing and appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Drive your shift team to achieve acceptable scores on the team KPI Scorecard as located on CAFM.
  • Contribute to and develop site specific procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, and EOP Drills as issued by Management.
  • Be fully conversant with the site Emergency Response Plan and cooperate with the SOC/FOC during site emergencies.
  • Report health and safety breaches and concerns to your manager as soon as possible.
  • Complete a minimum of 4 drills per month.
  • Supervise/monitor work of third-party engineers and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with site standards.
  • Develop a good working relationship with all members of K2's staff and the Customer representatives.
  • Carry out Toolbox talks once every shift rotation to achieve & exceed your shift teams monthly target.
  • Ensure the professional image of K2 is presented to clients and visitors at all times while on site.
  • Adhere to all K2's quality, health & safety, and environmental policies while performing work.
  • Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.
  • The Facility Manager is the next point of contact to cover shifts during emergency situations and must be flexible in working patterns to support business & operational demands.
