Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled ASSC General Ledger Accountant to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a key member of our Accounting General Ledger Team, you will be responsible for supporting the team lead on global type of journal entries and harmonizing the journal process globally.

You will work closely with accounting management and R2R Global Process Owner to establish general ledger governance, foster global journal definition, standardize/optimize the processing and communication channel, and implement global reconciliations to minimize regional/entity variations.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree with 3-5 years of accounting experience, knowledge in US GAAP Accounting and/or IFRS, and proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel, and Power Tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist team lead on establishment of general ledger governance and global JE definition.
  • Optimize the end-to-end process (before and after JE posting) of global JE to minimize non-value-added communication traffic.
  • Achieve journal posting through mass upload/automation.
  • Enable global reconciliation with potential improvement of closing timeline.
  • Support change management and work closely with Process Optimization team in technical build-up.
  • Provide timely support and service requests from the business globally.
  • Ensure all tasks performed are SOX & GAAP Compliance.
