Risk management is a critical function that plays a vital role in helping the Group deliver on its strategy by enabling safe and sustainable growth. This involves overseeing a robust risk management framework that is applied throughout the Group.

We are currently seeking an experienced leader to join the IWPB Risk team in Malaysia for the role of Senior Manager, Secured Risk. As a key principle responsibility, the role holder will have full ownership and accountability for the secured portfolios for the Bank.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, assessing and enhancing the risk control and management strategies to meet approved risk appetite. They will also ensure all applicable regulations, global policies, regional guidelines and local policies that impact IWPB are implemented.

This includes reviewing and challenging existing policies and processes to identify gaps and mitigating them. Additionally, they will lead detailed reviews of new or changed regulations, global policies and regional guidelines to determine their applicability and any remediation required.

They will take full ownership of the credit cycle and engage with stakeholders to ensure policy requirements are fully understood and accurately implemented. Furthermore, they will have a good understanding of profitability drivers for the secured portfolio and be able to embed them into strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will effectively manage the Secured Risk team to build on individual strengths and maximize team synergies. They will also support the WPB Risk Head in managing reviews, including BNM's Composite Risk Rating review, internal and external audit reviews and Risk & Compliance Assurance Services reviews.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a good and up-to-date understanding of market trends and be able to implement risk strategies to mitigate emerging risks. You will work collaboratively with the Governance Manager to ensure governance submissions, papers and deliverables are done accurately and timely.
