This role is part of the Virtual Apps & Desktops team, where you'll work closely with colleagues to design, implement, and manage the organization's VDI environment.
Your primary focus will be on designing scalable and efficient VDI environments based on business needs. You'll collaborate with architects, network engineers, and security teams to integrate VDI solutions with existing infrastructure.
In this position, you'll have the opportunity to deploy, configure, and maintain VDI environments, including virtual desktops, applications, and data. You'll also be responsible for implementing and managing both persistent and non-persistent desktop models.
You'll monitor VDI system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance overall performance. This includes conducting regular health checks, system monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting of VDI infrastructure.
To ensure optimal resource utilization, including storage, compute, and network resources, you'll need to analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Apart from these technical responsibilities, you'll also play a key role in implementing and enforcing security best practices within the VDI environment. This includes user authentication, data encryption, and access control.
Your users will rely on you to provide a seamless experience with VDI solutions. You'll troubleshoot and resolve complex issues escalated from the helpdesk or desktop support teams.
You'll create and maintain comprehensive documentation on VDI design, configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices. Additionally, you'll provide regular reports to management on VDI performance, usage, and ongoing projects.
