Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Consultant to join our team at Yinson Renewables AS. As a key member of our tax advisory group, you will play a critical role in helping us navigate the complex landscape of tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing tax advisory services to optimise our company's tax benefits in accordance with local and international tax laws.
  • Review contracts to ensure compliance with local tax rules and regulations, and identify opportunities for tax optimisation.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies on internal reorganisation, incorporation of companies, financial modelling for investing in businesses or entering into contracts, business expansion or exit plans in other countries.
  • Prepare and submit Corporate Tax Returns, Service Tax Returns, Withholding Tax Returns, Goods and Services Tax Returns, and other tax-related submissions on behalf of the company.
  • Ensure proper Transfer Pricing Documentation is prepared in accordance with Transfer Pricing Guidelines.
  • Monitor deadlines for tax payments to avoid penalties from relevant tax authorities.
  • Review and perform preliminary tax due diligence on potential deals to identify tax risks and opportunities.
  • Manage ad-hoc tax-related matters and work with internal stakeholders to foster a culture of delivery and excellence.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in public accounting firms or large organisations with in-house tax functions.
  • Solid knowledge of taxation in Malaysia, especially on tax legislation, administrations, practices, regulations, and public rulings.
  • Experience in International Taxation is an added advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia both verbally and written.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills in terms of tax advisory, tax planning, and tax incentive preparation.
