KPMG in Malaysia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead their tax compliance team as a VAT Service Line Manager. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a cluster of professionals delivering compliance services for specific countries.

The successful candidate will have multiple years of experience leading and managing a team, with a strong background in indirect tax. They will also possess expert knowledge of value-added tax (VAT) and the ability to identify potential problems and issues and articulate them clearly to clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Team leadership role managing a cluster of professionals delivering compliance services
  • Managing an assigned portfolio of clients to deliver strong client service
  • Ownership of the team's performance management to deliver accurate and effective indirect tax compliance services

The ideal candidate will be proactive and forward-thinking, able to work independently and initiate marketing ideas to develop the service line. They will also be able to build strong relationships with clients and participate in client meetings to follow up on milestones and enhance efficiency in the project.

In addition to these responsibilities, the VAT Service Line Manager will be responsible for managing the training needs for team members and ensuring that they are equipped with the latest development in taxation and its issues, and for reviewing all tax submissions and tax correspondences drafted/prepared by team members.
