This role focuses on hiring an experienced Reliability Engineer to support Upstream and Downstream assets globally, with the primary location being Kuala Lumpur.

">Main Responsibilities">
  • Develop equipment strategies that use fleet and RCM-based methods.
  • Model and predict potential reliability issues to prevent downtime.
  • Investigate equipment failures using advanced analysis techniques like Fault Tree Analysis, Weibull Tree Analysis, and Root-Cause failure Analysis.
  • Identify single points of failure to minimize their impact.
  • Use Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) to make informed decisions about asset maintenance and replacement.
  • Analyze unplanned losses and implement strategies to reduce them.
  • Conduct RAM (Reliability Availability and Maintainability) Analysis to optimize asset performance and availability.
  • Apply reliability analytics to drive data-driven decision-making and improve asset utilization.
  • Collaborate with Project Reliability or Engineering teams to ensure new and modified installations meet reliability standards.
  • Develop and implement annual maintenance plans to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment and systems.
  • Evaluate value-added preventive maintenance tasks to optimize resource allocation and minimize waste.
  • Use predictive and non-destructive testing methods to identify reliability problems early and prevent unexpected downtime.
  • Contribute to the development of Risk Management Plans to mitigate potential risks to plant operation and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop engineering solutions to address recurring failures and operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of Overall Equipment Effectiveness metrics and Remaining Useful Life estimates.
  • Provide technical guidance to production, maintenance management, and technical personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in Financial Risk Assessments and interpret insights from modelled safety and financial risks.
  • Review and support the development of competitive annual maintenance plans through risk-based work selection calculations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the tech center and the Reliability Community of Practice (CoP).

Requirements

">
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in refinery, petrochemical, or upstream oil and gas facilities environments.
  • Ability to analyze complex engineering data sets using analytical tools and concepts, making informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Experience in maintenance and execution systems, familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems such as SAP, and participation in major turnarounds/shutdowns will be highly valued.
