Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Vendor Contract Manager to join our team at Maxis Malaysia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on commercial and contractual matters related to vendor and partner contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations on commercial and contractual issues related to vendor and partner contracts.
  • Coordinate and drive interfaces between cross-functional teams to resolve escalated contractual issues, claims, and disputes.
  • Undertake post-contract responsibilities, including socialization of entitlements and obligations to stakeholders, issues and risk management, and reporting.
  • Provide contract strategy and support in key tender exercises, adapting and enhancing contract templates and related documents to ensure Maxis captures all its technical and services requirements clearly.
  • Lead in negotiations of contract terms and conditions and formalization of agreed contract terms and conditions.
  • Support Procurement Category Planning and Implementation, discussing and capturing clear specifications, scope, operating, contractual, and commercial models to achieve Maxis' technical and financial targets.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.
  • Required skill(s): In-life management of large contracts related to telco network and IT equipment, services, and/or solutions as well as partnership contracts.
  • At least 10 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position, preferably procurement and/or contract management.
  • Must be passionate about understanding stakeholder requirements and ensuring their expectations on vendors and deliveries are captured and included in the contracts to project Maxis' interest.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships within Maxis and with vendors and be able to help influence the best outcomes for Maxis.
  • Change agent to ensure that stakeholders understand the contracts and utilize all the entitlements that have been negotiated in.
  • Ability to maintain impartial and provide objective assessment and recommendation for contractual issues or disputes.
