The Role

As the Communications Manager for Sovereign's Capital Malaysia, you will play a critical role in crafting and executing PR and communication strategies to drive business objectives. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across various verticals, including commercial, marketing, and public affairs teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will develop and execute communication programs in line with Sovereign's Capital's vision and goals.
  • You will proactively identify and leverage publicity opportunities through various channels.
  • You will cultivate compelling media stories to bolster Sovereign's Capital Malaysia's leadership position.
  • You will forge and maintain strong ties with influential local media and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in Malaysia.
  • You will navigate and mitigate reputational risks and manage responses to incidents or crises.
  • You will oversee PR agency activities according to the agreed communication plan and budget.
  • You will analyze metrics to gauge the efficacy and impact of PR efforts, refining strategies as needed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in PR, corporate reputation management, brand communication, or related fields.
  • Established relationships with top-tier media, KOLs, and thought leaders.
  • Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken) and exceptional writing and storytelling skills.
  • A background in the consumer technology sector with experience in high-growth environments.
  • Previous roles in journalism, strategic communications consultancy, or similar fields.
  • Familiarity with social media and integrated marketing communications.
