About the Role
The Compliance Monitoring and Oversight Consultant will be a key member of the Monitoring and Oversight (M&O) unit, responsible for delivering a program of reviews of regulatory compliance and control in various aspects of the business. The role requires a strong understanding of internal control concepts and methodology, as well as the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a group-wide Monitoring and Oversight Plan based on risk-based prioritization criteria, incorporating a wide range of information sources to identify key compliance and control issues.
- Support the delivery of the Risk and Compliance Monitoring and Oversight Plan, including drafting review terms of reference, liaising with stakeholders, conducting review field work, and documenting testing results.
- Manage special investigations and reviews as needed, working with the business to frame and design actions to address compliance and control issues.
- Track and report on actions taken to address compliance and control issues, ensuring timely completion and effective remediation.
- Contribute to the production and maintenance of review and testing procedures and methodologies, as well as ad-hoc reporting and management information requests.
- Produce high-quality written reports on M&O reviews, including key findings and recommended actions.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified or equivalent professional experience, with relevant qualifications or training an advantage.
- 7+ years of experience in a Compliance advisory/M&O role, with a strong understanding of internal control concepts and methodology.
- Effective team player with good communication skills, able to present complex issues to senior management.
- Ability to influence and impact change, with a proven track record of completing projects on-time and adjusting to changing priorities.
- Experience in automation/data analytics an advantage, with in-depth knowledge of MS Office suite of applications.
