About the Role

The position of General Surgeon at Doctors Hospital Cayman is a critical role that requires an individual with exceptional clinical skills and experience in providing high-quality surgical care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Consult, diagnose, provide, and monitor pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative surgical care to patients of all ages.
  2. Elicit an appropriate history and perform physical examinations to determine sound clinical judgment.
  3. Adequately investigate patients' surgical conditions using various imaging modalities available, including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI scans.
  4. Accurately document medical records, including charting and monitoring of patients' conditions and progress.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the clinical staff to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care to patients.
  6. Refer patients to internal specialists or external healthcare entities when necessary.
  7. Develop plans for surgical improvement by implementing clinical protocols or pathways and advising on surgical equipment and instrumentation for effectiveness.
  8. Perform core procedures, including but not limited to, abdominal resection, amputations, anoscopy, appendectomy, biliary tract surgery, breast operations, colonoscopy, colotomy, and drainage of intra-abdominal abscesses.
