About This Role

Lion & Lion is seeking an experienced Executive Accountant to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. As an integral part of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading financial reporting, management and group reporting (month-end closing, monthly financial & management reports, group consolidation, annual financial statements etc.), business performance review, periodic forecast and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role requires strong analytical skills to support management in decision-making and process improvement recommendations.
  • Cash flow forecasting and monitoring are critical aspects of this position.
  • Achieving accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting requirements, including timely filing of tax returns and tax payments, is essential.
  • Providing support to the Country Director, local team, and management team in day-to-day financial operations is necessary.
  • Liaising regularly with internal and external auditors, tax agents, and external lawyers is required.
  • Assisting with financial management initiatives, strategic analysis, and strategic planning is also expected.
  • This role may involve undertaking other ad-hoc assignments as needed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in a similar position is required.
  • Candidates with a background in audit are welcome to apply.
  • A degree in accounting with at least a 2nd class upper is mandatory.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, or CA are preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are necessary.
  • IT proficiency in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel & Word, with the ability to work with Lookups, Pivot Tables, and graphs is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a good understanding of accounting standards and tax rulings are required.
  • This role requires a self-motivated individual who is a team player, dynamic, with a mature personality, and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes is necessary.
