Job Description:
The role of the Sr NPI Buyer is to oversee the procurement process for new product introductions (NPI) at Advanced Energy Management Limited. This includes sourcing and purchasing lower to medium value production materials under limited supervision.
Main Responsibilities:
- Analyze Business Requirements Planning (BRP) Reports to identify suggested orders and/or alterations.
- Educate suppliers on performance measurements and continuous improvements.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality and delivery performance against corporate objectives, working with related teams to improve performance.
- Develop a good working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to make purchases consistent with quantity and quality requirements.
- Gather in-depth knowledge of assigned commodities/suppliers, technologies, manufacturing processes, and related industries to expedite results effectively.
- Purchase parts/materials using Requests for Quotes (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI), negotiation, contracts, cost analysis, and internal/external technical expertise.
- Establish and strengthen business relationships with suppliers and internal customers; work closely with planning and demand teams to understand real demand fluctuations and proactively address changes.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers regarding delivery issues, DMR issues, GR issues, quality issues, payment issues, or others until resolved.
- Responsible for maintaining systems correctly and timely; complete purchasing assignments within the required time frame at a high level.
- Maintain inventory at a reasonable level through negotiation with suppliers by pushing out, rescheduling, or canceling open orders.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
- Work and coordinate on NPI Activities with the NPI Project Team.
- Involve in NPI Parts Execution and include all RMA/DMR to suppliers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
