Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilities Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the property maintenance department, ensuring that plant and equipment operate with minimal downtime.
  2. Maintenance and Repair: Maintain the hotel facility, including the physical building structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment, in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
  3. Engineering Management: Participate in overall engineering management while maintaining a hands-on role, providing support and assistance to the Maintenance Chief Engineer to meet the strategic goals of the department.
  4. Work Order Management: Control the maintenance request system by assigning works to specific trades, supervising proper completion of assigned works, and compiling daily work order statistics.
  5. Utility Management: Maintain records relating to utility costs throughout the hotel, performing general and emergency repairs and maintenance to all plant and equipment based on skill and experience level.
  6. Inspections and Compliance: Carry out regular inspections of plant and equipment, ensuring that inspections required by government authorities are conducted and documented.
  7. Room Maintenance: Carry out general room repairs, preventative maintenance inspections, and repairs, including scheduling of all these works as per the computerized system.
  8. Fire Protection: Perform and assist with the fire protection preventative maintenance program, ensuring all items are inspected as per the monthly schedule.
  9. Logbook Management: Review the daily logbook, rectify or follow up on all items left unsolved from any previous shifts, and discuss the same with the Maintenance Manager.
  10. Engineering Safety: Ensure fire and engineering safety features operate at peak efficiency.
  11. Record Keeping: Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel.
  12. Environmental Protection: Ensure proper measures are taken to protect the environment and the hotel's adherence to it.
  13. Energy and Water Management: Monitor energy and water management systems to minimize wastage and costs using daily/weekly utility readings as a reference point.
  14. Workshop Management: Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of building, electrical, and mechanical services, water features, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment.
  15. Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all tools and equipment for the running of workshop trades and functions.
  16. Workshop Environment: Ensure the workshops have adequate stock and materials in stores and that all workshops are kept in a clean and safe environment.
  17. Meetings and Communication: Attend meetings as required.
