As a key member of our Data Platform Competency Centre, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of modern and effective data management practices that enable the use of data in our system within the organisation. Our Ørsted data ecosystem (ØDE) is a cutting-edge cloud-based data platform that facilitates the collection, processing, and consumption of data from all business units, making it available to analysts, data scientists, and machine learning models.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop highly scalable, robust, and secure cloud-based applications and data analytics solutions on the AWS platform.
  2. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and team members.
  3. Evaluate business requirements and convert them into detailed technical specifications and architecture.
  4. Lead the adoption of best practices in cloud security, architecture, and AWS services.
  5. Develop and maintain data pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, Kafka, Lambda, EKS, and EMR.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, data engineers, security experts, and business analysts, to deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements:

  1. Substantial development and data ingestion experience using Python and SQL.
  2. Strong experience with AWS services, such as Glue, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, Lambda, and EMR.
  3. Optimise data querying performance using AWS Redshift and ensure data integrity and security compliance.
  4. Familiarity with data cataloguing and metadata management.
  5. Ability to stay current with AWS services updates and emerging cloud technologies.
  6. Experience with implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
