About the Opportunity

The Energy Risk and Accounting (ERA) process is a critical component of Shell's downstream business, supporting Trading and Supply, Aviation, Bitumen, Lubes, Manufacturing, Chemicals, and Integrated Gas. As an Accounting and Finance Professional, you will be responsible for managing Hydrocarbon Management payables and receivables, Contracts and Pricing, Stock Recording and Reconciliation, and Stock Valuation.

You will oversee Hydrocarbon Management (HM) Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, ensuring all payments and receipts are made in accordance with relevant contracts. This includes verifying and processing Hydrocarbon invoices, troubleshooting issues related to HM payments and receivables, and ensuring strict compliance with payment and receipt deadlines.

Additionally, you will prepare manual journal entries (MJE) in accordance with Control and policy, perform Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation, manage Hydrocarbon Contracts & Pricing, and perform Stock Recording and Book vs Physical Stock Reconciliation on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of Hydrocarbon Management (HM) Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.
  • Verification and processing of Hydrocarbon invoices.
  • Troubleshooting issues related to HM payments and receivables.
  • Preparation of manual journal entries (MJE).
  • Performance of Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation.
  • Management of Hydrocarbon Contracts & Pricing.
  • Performance of Stock Recording and Book vs Physical Stock Reconciliation.
  • Posting of any final stock differences within allowed tolerance.
  • Performance of Stock Valuation and Margin Segmentation.
  • Provision of information to direct stakeholders timely, accurately, and professionally.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate deliveries of team's KPIs.
  • Ensuring compliance and execution of RDS, Key Controls, and Non-Key Controls in accordance with Shell Controls Framework.
