Coherent Corp. is a leading manufacturer of lasers, engineered materials and networking components. We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Expert to join our team in Ipoh.

About the Role

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the purchasing process from start to finish, ensuring that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies and procedures. This includes procuring raw materials, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years or more of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or production environments. Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the purchasing process from start to finish
  • Procure raw materials and manage inventory levels
  • C coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor production schedules and inventory levels to proactively address any material shortages or excesses
  • Collaborate with suppliers to confirm Purchase Orders (POs) in the Oracle system
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
  • 5 years or more of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Oracle and SAP systems
  • Ability to work effectively across teams and communicate complex ideas clearly
