Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead - Financial Accounting to join our team in Malaysia. As a key member of our Financial Accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of accounting reports and deliverables, as well as providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Reporting: Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of accounting reports and deliverables prepared by the team in accordance with client requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Client Service: Be responsive to client inquiries for accounting and other operational matters.
  • Team Management: Set clear team goals and deadlines with appropriate delegation of tasks, and ensure quality deliverables by reviewing and approving work prior to final delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in streamlining effective workflow processes and efficient manpower structure.
  • Client Meetings: Attend client meetings as required by clients.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are strictly adhered to by all staff.
  • Communication: Ensure reply/respond to clients' queries/correspondence not later than 2 working days.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and take/recommend appropriate action.
  • Ad Hoc Activities: Handle ad hoc activities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Accounting Knowledge: Knowledge of end-to-end accounting functions and interaction.
  • Accounting Software: Knowledge of some accounting software is an advantage, such as Microsoft Navision, Xero, Oracle, and SAP.
  • Language Skills: Good command of both spoken and written English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex accounting environment.
  • Team Management: Experience of managing a team in a client service or Shared Service Centre (SSC) environment is essential.
  • Education: At least a SPM, Diploma, Degree, or in the midst of pursuing professional studies in accounting/financial or its equivalent.
  • Professional Certifications: ACCA, MIA, CPA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
