**About the Role**

The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing efficient, courteous, and professional food & beverage service in the hotel’s Chinese restaurant. The role ensures guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience, while upholding the service traditions and etiquette specific to Chinese dining.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Greet guests courteously, seat them, present menus, and explain daily specials or signature dishes.
- Have detailed knowledge of the menu (especially Chinese cuisines: dim sum, banquet items, specialty dishes) and be able to explain ingredients, cooking methods, and garnishes.
- Take food & beverage orders accurately; relay orders to kitchen or bar staff; monitor timing so service flows smoothly.
- Serve food and beverages, ensuring proper presentation and that dishes arrive at the correct temperature.
- Attend to guests throughout their meal: check satisfaction, refill drinks, handle additional requests.
- Clean and set up tables, clear dishes, reset tables between guests. Maintain cleanliness of work station, dining area, and service materials (cutlery, glassware).
- Process payments / present bill to guests; handle cash, POS transactions accurately.
- Assist in mise-en-place and closing duties: restocking supplies, cleaning, ensuring all service items are ready for the next shift.
- Follow hotel/hygiene / health & safety standards strictly.
- Be able to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Sometimes assist with special functions / banquets if the restaurant or hotel has them, especially Chinese banquet services.
- Provide warm, attentive, culturally appropriate guest service; possibly speak relevant languages (Mandarin / Cantonese / local dialects) if needed.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Previous experience in guest service / restaurant service; experience in Chinese cuisine / banquet service is a plus.
- Good communication skills; able to greet and interact with guests politely, handle guest enquiries or complaints with tact.
- Strong attention to detail (presentation, cleanliness, timing).
- Able to multitask especially during busy periods.
- Physical stamina (standing for long hours, carrying trays etc.).
- Basic numeracy (for billing, payments).
- POS / order system familiarity preferred.
- Polished appearance; good grooming and personal hygiene.
- Team player; works cooperatively with kitchen, service staff, management.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
