Safety and Health Assistant Officer/ Officer

Promote industrial safety amongst employees by conducting safety campaigns and individual counselling.
- Responsible for Safety Training, coordinate Safety Committee meetings and inspections.
- Review the implementation of safety and health policies and program throughout all departments directing and controlling the observance of safety procedures.
- Review all major investigation reports to ensure appropriate corrective measures have been established maintain Reports of Accidents for Management action and for reporting to Statutory Authorities.
- Review safety equipment and other items necessary for the effective implementation of accident control inspect plant and facilities to ensure compliance with government safety regulations.
- Ensure staffs have adequate knowledge and training to achieve their safety accountabilities and participate actively in Safety and Health Committee activities determining and revising quantifiable safety targets with Department Heads and Executives on regular basis.
- To perform any other tasks or assignments as directed by the Management from time to time.
- To be Secretary of Safety & Health Committee
- Organise and coordinate safety and health meetings, including arranging for minute to be taken.
- Under direction of the Facility Manager assist in preparation of the HSE documentation
- Providing advice and support to the Facility Manager for the implementation and auditing of the Health, Safety, Security & Environment Management Plan
- Advising on all project related Health, Safety, Security & Environment issues
- Maintaining safety education and awareness levels that support effective Safety management
- To lead accident investigation for any accident, occur at site and prepare accident report with all recommendations to prevent reoccurrences.
- Organise training on fire drill, first aid, Chemicals spilled / leakage & other areas which help to strengthen Health, Safety and Environment.
- Study adequacy at safety and fire-fighting equipment's in each department, discuss with respective department Heads & arrange for purchase of new equipment if required. Upon delivery of equipment, identify suitable location and monitor to ensure satisfactory installation. For all new equipment, train respective department supervisors & executives on correct usage & document training. If possible, to provide them a quick reference manual. Ensure training is then conducted by supervisors / executives for others employees in departments and documented.
- Perform regular inspection and testing of all safety and fire-fighting equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Ensure servicing of equipment is done on timely basis.
- Perform any other job/function that may be assigned by management
**Job Qualification**
- At least Diploma or **_Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or other discipline_**, or management plus with certificate of safety and health officer organized by NIOSH or other education institution recognized by DOSH
- Preferably with Registered with DOSH as Safety Officer (Valid SHO Registration with DOSH).
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience with safety and health matter.
- Knowlege ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, HSE compliance.
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- MUST be willing to work in Batu Pahat, Johor
