PURPOSE

FWD's GenAI and Digital Platforms team leverages emerging technologies to support our digital strategy across all FWD markets. As part of this team, the Assistant Manager will contribute to the development and implementation of Generative AI features that enhance product and service experiences. This role is suited for a hands-on, technically skilled individual with a strong interest in Generative AI and a passion for improving how people engage with insurance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES-
- Implement user interface components and back-end services under guidance from senior developers or leads.- Support integration of APIs, server-side logic, and database connectivity to enable core GenAI functionality.- Support senior developers or leads in collaborating with product owners and UX/UI designers to translate requirements into functioning features.- Contribute towards technical specification reviews and documentation of development tasks.- Stay informed of GenAI trends and emerging tools such as LLMs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to support experimentation and prototyping.- Participate in sprint planning, standups, and code reviews as part of an agile development team.- Support data-driven decision making by implementing tracking and analytics based on defined tagging schemas.- Assist in building automation and development pipelines for improved efficiency and scalability.- Coordinate with peers across different project teams or countries on assigned deliverables.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS- Completion of assigned tasks and features according to scope, schedule, and quality standards- Code quality, maintainability, and adherence to defined development guidelines and best practices- Effective collaboration with product, design, and development teams to support successful project implementation- Accuracy and clarity of technical documentation for assigned components and deliverables- Responsiveness to feedback and proactive effort in learning and improving technical capabilities- Consistent contribution to team delivery across countries and alignment with shared development patterns

Delivery- Contribute to the development of high-quality, reusable code in alignment with Group architecture, security, and coding standards-
- Follow established development and deployment processes to ensure consistency and quality across projects- Actively participate in code reviews and testing activities to support overall team delivery standards- Ensure proper documentation and version control for all deliverables

Relationships- Collaborate with internal development teams, product owners, and UX/UI designers to support GenAI feature implementation- Communicate proactively with business users (e.g. Product, Operations, Customer Service) to clarify functional requirements and technical considerations- Align task progress and priorities with project managers and team leads through regular updates- Work jointly with QA, DevOps, and IT infrastructure teams to ensure stable development, testing, and deployment workflows- Assist in coordinating with external vendors or partners as assigned, under guidance from senior team members

Systems and Controls- Adhere to QA standards and make recommendations (e.g. process improvements).- Document and implement lessons learned.- Implement appropriate measurements and metrics for management reporting.

DECISION MAKING- Make sound technical decisions within the scope of assigned tasks, aligned with established architecture and development standards- Escalate complex design or architectural considerations to senior team members for guidance- Prioritize and manage individual workload effectively to meet deadlines and deliver
