1. **Creating and Implementing Individualized Lessons**
- Develop, implement, and monitor personalized education plans for students, ensuring their academic and personal development needs are met.
- Work with a team of professionals (therapists, counselors, etc.) to create these plans, setting specific, measurable goals.

2. **Adapting Lesson Plans and Teaching Methods**
- Modify general lesson plans to accommodate the learning styles and abilities of students.
- Use specialized materials, adaptive technologies, and teaching strategies to help students engage with the curriculum.
- Break down complex lessons into simpler tasks and provide extra time or alternative formats if needed.

3. **Delivering Direct Instruction**
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction as needed, ensuring every student receives the attention they need.
- Incorporate hands-on activities, visual aids, and other tools to enhance learning.

4. **Behavior Management**
- Implement behavioral management strategies to support positive behavior and manage challenges in the classroom.
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and develop personalized strategies to address disruptive behaviors.
- Encourage social skills and emotional regulation by modeling appropriate interactions and providing support during social activities.

5. **Monitoring Student Progress**
- Regularly assess students' academic and social progress, adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, behavior, and achievements.
- Regularly review and update IEPs based on students' progress.

6. **Collaboration with Parents and Caregivers**
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, challenges, and ways to support their learning at home.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings to review and adjust IEPs as necessary.
- Share strategies and insights with families to help reinforce learning and behavior management at home.

7. **Providing Emotional and Social Support**
- Help students build self-esteem and confidence by celebrating achievements, no matter how small.
- Offer emotional support, particularly for students with emotional or behavioral disorders.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and accepted.

8. **Collaboration with Other Professionals**
- Work closely with other school staff, such as general education teachers, special education assistants, school counselors, and therapists.
