Assistant Production Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- To assist in planning daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer orders and deadlines.
- To monitor production progress and ensure targets are met.
- To coordinate with the production manager to allocate resources (materials, labor, and machinery) efficiently.
- To supervise and manage production teams, including welders, machinists, and fabricators.
- To assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity.
- To provide guidance, training, and mentoring to staff to improve skills and efficiency.
- To ensure fabricated metal products meet quality and safety standards.
- To conduct regular inspections of production processes and finished goods.
- To work with the quality assurance team to address defects and implement corrective actions.
- To monitor the operation and maintenance of metal fabrication equipment (e.g., CNC machines, welding equipment, laser cutters).
- To coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- To recommend upgrades or new equipment to improve production efficiency.
- To analyze production workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
- To implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
- To support automation and technology adoption where applicable.
- To monitor raw material levels, including metals, welding supplies, and consumables.
- To coordinate with procurement to ensure timely restocking of materials.
- To minimize material wastage during fabrication processes.
- To prepare and present production reports, including efficiency, output, and quality metrics.
- To collaborate with other departments, such as sales, design, and logistics, to align production with business goals.
- To act as a liaison between the production floor and management.
- To drive KPIs across all areas of the production department, accountable to yield, product quality improvement and people development.
- To develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
- To ensure all the workers are following and comply to all safety requirements.
- To ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and regulations.
- To conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for employees.
- To promote a safe working environment and address hazards promptly.

**Qualification(s)**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Required skill(s): Management, Leadership, Leadership and Team Management abilities, Problem-solving and analytical thinking, Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
- At least 5 years of experience in metal fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment in production line.
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication techniques like welding, cutting, and forming.
- Knowledge of CNC machinery, CAD/CAM software, and other fabrication tools.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Strong understanding of materials, including steel, aluminum, and other metals.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
