Astar has partnered with a well-respected company on the hunt for their next **Shift Leader**. This company is transmission and propulsion systems for automotive OEM’s and mobility providers globally.

The Shift Leader is responsible for managing production activities during their shift, ensuring that output and quality targets are met while maintaining a safe working environment. This role involves supervising operators, controlling production costs, and facilitating communication between shifts.

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Must have a minimum of SPM/SKM or an equivalent qualification
- At least 3 years in a team leader position with hands-on or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong team player with effective problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures is advantageous
- Must be in good physical health to meet the demands of the job

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Arrange production activities during the shift to meet output and yield requirements.
- Manage shift personnel to ensure compliance with company and departmental discipline, work instructions, and procedures.
- Monitor and control all production costs during the shift.
- Organize and conduct training for operators to ensure they possess the necessary skills and capabilities for their roles.
- Provide suggestions to process engineers for modifications to operating instructions.
- Cooperate with engineers to analyze and resolve production-related issues.
- Conduct daily handovers of all production information to the next shift to ensure continuity.
- Report any abnormal production information to engineers in a timely manner.
- Ensure mínimal buffer stock during production to optimize efficiency.
- Work on shift objectives to drive continuous improvement in production processes.
- Direct production activities in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Maintain a clear understanding of product quality issues and know when to halt production and report immediately.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Production Manager regarding shift activities and outcomes.
- Ensure that all routine work meets the requirements of TS16949 and ISO14001 standards.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be in good physical condition to handle the demands of the job, which may include long hours of standing, lifting heavy objects, and operating heavy equipment.
- Normal vision is required, including the ability to read machine gauges, monitor controls, and recognize hazards or warning signs.
- Normal hearing ability is necessary, especially in a noisy environment.
- The hands must be fully functional with no impairments that could interfere with the operation of machinery or tools.
- Shift Leader may need to lift heavy equipment, parts, or materials, so physical strength and stamina are important.
- A medical examination is required to ensure the absence of chronic illnesses or contagious diseases. This includes passing a standard physical exam to confirm overall fitness for the job.
