As a Chemist, your role revolves around the organization and execution of experimental work to promote our goals. You will draw insightful conclusions from your experiments, contributing to the development of enhanced product formulations. While working under the guidance of your supervisor, you'll provide valuable technical support for new and existing products. In this capacity, you will adhere to instructions while executing assigned experiments, engaging in daily discussions with your supervisor to ensure alignment. Your responsibilities also include proficiently organizing tasks for efficient experiment completion and maintaining records of experimental outcomes in a concise and visually to communicate results and trends. You will report to the Sr Technical Manager and will work on-site at Petaling Jaya. **Main Responsibilities** - Organize, accurately carry out and draw conclusions from lab experiments following discussion with supervisors. - Ensure all experimental work is fully recorded in appropriate lab notebooks, databases and where necessary, project reports. - Work safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards. - Provide technical support (closely guided by supervisor) to other functions especially sales and production. - Contribute ideas for lab work involving new product development, existing product improvement, formula cost reduction, processes and procedural improvement. **Qualifications** - Graduate with Honours Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline. - 1-5 years’ work experience in a technical role at a relevant company within the chemical or coatings industry. - Basic knowledge of paint making, testing techniques & colour theory. - Comprehends paint manufacturing and production processes. - Understanding of key formulating rules and principles. - Is familiar with major raw material suppliers and their technologies. - Working knowledge of all laboratory & EHS processes and procedures. - See separate detailed skills matrix. - Proactive initiative, exceptional teamwork, and an unwavering drive for achieving outstanding results. - Participation in customer line trials within home country location, or occasionally elsewhere within the region depending on technology base/market segment/customer type supported. **About us**: **PPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD** **The PPG Way** Every single day at PPG: **We partner with customers to create mutual value.** **We are "One PPG" to the world.** **We trust our people every day, in every way.** **We make it happen.** **We run it like we own it.** **We do better today than yesterday - everyday.** Benefits will be discussed with you by your recruiter during the hiring process.
