Safety & Health Officer

**Job Summary**

Under the supervision of the HR Manager, to perform the following Safety and Health Officer functions. The main objectives are to assist the management generally in advising and ensure compliance with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health), DOE (Department of Environment), Health Department, WESTPORTS and BOMBA Rules and Regulations.

**Job Duties & Responsibility**
- To monitor all Safety and Health procedure according to DOSH Requirement and to ensure all machines are registered accordingly and deal with statutory bodies such as DOSH Selangor and DOSH Putrajaya, DOE Selangor, BOMBA, WESTPORTS and Health Department.
- Yearly inspection for Boiler and all Registered Machineries for SSOM and SBF.
- Accident reporting and record keeping.
- Updating log book for DOSH Inspection and identify the requirement that need to be complied.
- Registration of Competent person or new machineries
- Factory General Regulations (checking of contractor’s work to ensure compliance with he Act & Regulations made there under are complied):

- To monitor the Work Permit implementation.
- To monitor the regulation on Forklift, Hot work and Confined space.
- To monitor and do inspection for Fire Fighting system such as Fire Extinguisher, Hose Reel, Hydrant and Alarm Bell.
- To monitor the Fire Fighting Equipment Quarterly inspection by Fire Contractor and dealing with electrical team on the service and maintenance report.
- To advise and assist in machineries registration.
- Conduct Air Emission Monitoring for chimney, Dust and Noise Monitoring
- To do Safety induction and selected Safety Training for all new staff and all incoming contractors.
- To monitor the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and ensure the Emergency Response Plan is updated.
- To conduct Fire Fighting Equipment, forklift inspection and record keeping.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) distributions for SSOM and SBF staff.
- To be the Steering Committee Secretary and to assist and advice the sub committee secretary in Safety Committee Meeting and to run the committee according to the regulation requirement.
- To coordinate with Statutory Bodies, DOSH, DOE, Health Department, WESTPORTS and BOMBA on safety and health issues.
- To escort Statutory Bodies when inspection and as far as practicable complying with their Rules and Regulations
- To monitor the Safety Rules and Regulation throughout the plant.
- To advise management on issues that related to BOMBA certification
- To conduct any related Safety Training such as Dust Explosion, Forklift Internal Training, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), Fire Fighting Equipment, First Aid Box training and Natural Gas Training by PETRONAS.
- To perform HIRARC for all sites.
- To monitor Schedule Waste and notify DOE monthly.
- To liaise with Westports and Syabas for incoming water if pressure is low and notify management accordingly and coordinate the water purchase directly from Syabas.

**Job Requirement**
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health & Safety Management or similar field or any related field
- Proven experienced in safety and health at least 3 years and above
- In depth knowledge of legislation and procedures, experiences in writing reports and safety & health policy
- Proficient in MS Office, safety management information system
- Diligent with great attention to details
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain safety and health topics
- Willing to work in Pulau Indah Selangor
- Possessed valid driving licenses and own transport

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
