**We are seeking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Secondary Music teacher who is capable of teaching Music at IGCSE and A-Level. An ability to teach Music Technology at A-Level is highly desirable.**

**Applicants for the position should**:

- have knowledge, experience and a passion for teaching Music at KS3 and IGCSE and A-Level (or at an equivalent level).
- the ability to teach Music Technology at A-Level (or equivalent) is extremely desirable.

**Main Responsibilities**
- The teaching of Music to students in the age range 11-14 years.
- The teaching of Music at (I)GCSE level
- The teaching of Music Technology at A-Level
- Managing an effective, orderly and safe learning environment.
- Motivating children to be passionate about Music and Performing Arts.
- Developing formulated schemes of work.
- Keeping detailed records of the progress of individual students.
- Differentiating class work as necessary to meet the differing ability needs of all children.
- Reporting to parents per the agreed guidelines.
- Arranging frequent rehearsals for choirs, orchestras, ensembles, etc.
- Arranging regular musical performances in school assemblies, etc.
- Working as part of a team with other members of the Performing Arts Department to arrange end-of-term and end-of-year performances to a high standard.
- Working as part of a team with other members of the Performing Arts Department and Whole School staff on the yearly Secondary School Production
- Liaising with the Student Support Team about individual students who may have exceptional needs, to ensure that those needs are understood, planned for and met.
- Attending and contributing to meetings of a professional nature as and when required.
- Contributing to the strengthening of the parent-teacher partnership in individual and whole school initiatives as and when required.
- Be prepared to take on a pastoral role in the school in the form of a Form Tutor, and fulfilling the responsibilities of that position.
- Making a positive contribution to the development of the School.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Actively supporting the ethos of the school and the Head of Department
- Actively support and adhere to the Child Protection Policy, including attending annual training.
