Minimum Qualifications:
Masters and above in Computer Science (Al, or Cyber Security related area), from an accredited institution.

Holding first degree in Computing.

Proven teaching experience at the university level, with a strong ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

Demonstrated research expertise in Computer Science (Al, or Cyber Security related area), with a strong publication record in high-impact journals and conferences.

Experience with course development and curriculum design, particularly in online and blended learning environments.

Strong industry connections and the ability to integrate practical, real world insights into teaching and research activities.

Preferred Qualifications (Advantage):
Experience in supervising Masters students and above as well as leading research teams.

Proven success in securing research funding from government, industry, or international bodies.

Knowledge of current and emerging trends in Al, such as machine learning, data privacy, ethical Al, quantum computing and cloud security.

Active involvement in professional organizations and conferences related to AL

Strong interdisciplinary skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and faculties.

Job competencies:
1.Teaching and Learning:
Develop and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Design innovative teaching materials and assessment methods to enhance student learning experiences by utilizing the learning management platforms.

Prepare the necessary documentation of teaching & learning as required. Provide academic guidance and support to students, including advising on course selection and career opportunities.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

Develop new programs in Artificial Intelligence.

2. Research:
Conduct cutting-edge research in computer science and engineering, with a focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, software engineering, and other focus areas of the university.

To identify sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds for own research or scholarly projects.

Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.

Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across disciplines to pursue interdisciplinary research projects and funding opportunities. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, including thesis supervision and mentorship.

3. Supervision:
Provide academic supervision and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students, including advising on research methodologies, project planning, and professional development.

Foster a supportive and stimulating research environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, and academic excellence.

4. Publication:
Publish research articles, conference papers, book chapters, and other scholarly works in high-impact journals and publications.
Demonstrate a commitment to scholarly dissemination and knowledge exchange through active participation in academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.
5. Administration:
Contribute to departmental and university committees, working groups, and administrative tasks as assigned.

Participate in curriculum development, program review, and accreditation activities to ensure the quality and relevance of academic programs. Be responsible for quality, audit, and other external assessments in your own areas of responsibility.

Take responsibility for program accreditation processes.

Ensure that operational processes such as timetabling, assessment, and examinations are managed.

Engage in academic and professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness, research productivity, and administrative skills.

6. Community Development:
Engage with industry partners, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and the wider community to promote knowledge transfer, technology transfer, and social impact initiatives.
