**About this role**
The Economist will support the MAS APD Economics and Strategy Team Lead. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur to support the strategy and economics capability. You will mainly be focusing Malaysia as well as to support Singapore. We require a motivated junior economist to be part of the exciting projects providing advice to the governments, corporations, and multilaterals on a range of strategic issues from climate change to smart cities, conducting research and analysis. You will also participate in delivering insights and recommendations to executive level decision makers.

**What will I do?**
- To execute responsibilities as outlined in the firm's Health &Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
- Deliver complex strategy projects, across a range of domains and disciplines covering the built and natural environment.
- Business strategies (market entry and go to market strategies, growth strategies)
- Strategic planning strategies (city positioning strategies, urban development strategies)
- Economic and financial strategies (economic development strategies, private sector development strategies, financing strategies)

**What will I bring?**
- Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in economics or public policy with at least 2 years of work experience on multi-disciplinary projects
- Strong Analytical skill to identify and analyse issues such as consumer demand and sales to help a company maximize its profits.
- Able to do research the distribution, accessibility, and reach of goods and services, to identify potential trends or make economic forecasts.
- Strong communication skill with clients and team members
- Takes initiative in delivering tasks and activities
