Automation Tester

Job Summary:
The Senior Tester will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test scripts to ensure high-quality software product releases. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of automation testing frameworks, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Senior Tester will work closely with developers, manual testers/analysts, and product owner to create and maintain reliable test scripts, report on testing progress, and contribute to further test automation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Test Planning and Analysis:

- Work with business analysts and developers to understand user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing documentation to support new and existing functionalities.
- Conduct requirements analysis to identify test scenarios and test cases that need

automation
- Test Script design, automation and execution:

- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test scripts
- Identify and recommend test automation strategies and best practices to enhance the software testing process.
- Maintain and update existing automation frameworks, ensuring they are robust and adaptable to product changes.
- Database Testing and Validation:

- Write and execute queries/reports to validate database entries and ensure data

consistency, accuracy, and integrity
- Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand data flow
- Develop automated tests to verify end-to-end data integrity from source systems to databases and ensure data accuracy across various layers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot automated test run
- Quality and Performance Tracking:

- Track and report defects identified during testing, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Monitor test coverage and report on test results, providing regular updates on testing progress and quality metrics.
- Perform root-cause analysis on failed test cases to identify and resolve issues

effectively.
- Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with developers, analysts and Product Owner to ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements.
- Communicate testing status, key issues, and risks to project stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, to align testing efforts with project timelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in automation tools such as Robot Framework.
- Experience with programming languages commonly used in test automation, such as Python
- Understanding of test management tools (Xray for JIRA)
- Able to write documentation in our knowledge management tool ‘Confluence’
- Familiarity with Microstrategy Integrity manager is a plus
- Testing and Quality Assurance:

- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, test case creation, and defect tracking.
- Familiarity with data warehouse/reporting testing is a plus
- Familiarity with non-functional testing (e.g., performance, security testing) is an

advantage.
- Soft Skills:

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation.
- Experience working in agile environments is highly preferred.
- Software test certification is a plus (ISTQB, Testing in agile environments,...)

**Job Type**: Contract

Pay: Up to RM7,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
