Hot Runner Mould Expert

Responsibilities: 1. Develop mould design concepts consistent with injection molds process, where moulds will typically run in very high productivity operations for extended tool life. 2. Work with program managers and customers to fully understand moulded part design requirements, and integrate these requirements in to mould design. 3. Leverage Modeling and Simulation studies, run by other experts, to improve and optimize mould designs for productivity and longevity. 4. Develop and integrate new mould design approaches and new mould design technology. 5. Deliver complete fabrication ready 3D mould designs. Functional Skills: 1. Possess deep technical mastery of mould design 2. Understanding common mechanical functions including hydraulics, pneumatics, electronic instrumentation, and servo driven actions 3. Strong problem solving skills 4. Ability to learn new technology 5. Strong 3D CAD skills 6. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions and with customers 7. Ability to research problems, develop solutions and present possible solutions for implementation 8. Ability to work successfully under pressure of tight timelines and frequent changes to a heavy workload 9. Ability to work with outside vendors Qualifications: 1. 5+ years experience in injection mold design & engineering is required 2. Experience with multiple cavity hot runner molds is required 3. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree is desired 4. 5+ years experience with 3D CAD design required, working knowledge of multiple industry leading 3D CAD programs is desired 5. Experience in a Research and Development, Manufacturing or related environment is desired 6. Previous experience in programming CNC machining equipment is desired 7. Previous machinist/toolmaking experience is desired 8. Willing to travel is desired
