**Location: KL, Contract (12 Months), Full Time**

**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform necessary data recovery and restoration based on user requirement, either in development/testing or production environment.
- To respond & resolve related cases reported or from Helpdesk System in cordance to IT policy and procedures. To ensure databases are at utmost availability with minimum downtime during operational hours. To regularly monitor, check and analyse the database (capacity & trending analysis) and to make appropriate suggestions and actions with respect to efficiency and performance improvement of the database. To advise and identify database data files, configuration files and transaction log to be backup either on daily, weekly or monthly basis for complete recovery if required.
- To regularly verify and test database files being routinely backup by Server Operator. To provide first level support (first tier) for any database related problem identified or reported, and to escalate to proper channel for further troubleshooting and rectification if required.
- To perform necessary recovery on data lost or corrupt, including capability to rebuild entire database if required. To perform necessary database health check, preventive maintenance and tuning. To install new or upgrade versions of database software, patches, and other software related to database administration, which have been successfully tested in development/testing environment. To provide regular database status updates to Manager/Head, IT Operation & Support. To ensure related database subscription, maintenance and support agreement being renewed before expiry without failure.
- To assist and cooperate with IT security in ensuring a secured database in production environment.
- To manage and secure database administrator user ID in development and production environment.
- To record and document daily routine jobs undertaking, problems & steps taken for reference.
- To record and document all database detail specification including all running preconfigured configurations and parameters for reference and benchmarking purposes.
- To establish and update database operation manuals and procedures, including necessary enforcement and compliance. To prepare database outage incident report including necessary steps taken (if any). To prepare database capacity report on yearly basis. Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALICATIONS**:

- **6 to 10 years of experience** in server administration and database management
- Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Proficiency in database recovery, restoration, and routine backup verification
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Experience with installing and upgrading database software and related patches.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
