Imaging Radiographer

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To carry out imaging procedures as assigned, includes but not limited to the following:
- General X ray including Mobile X ray.
- CT scan
- MRI
- PETCT
- Mammography procedures - female radiographer only
- C-arm related procedures
- Dexa
- II in OT
- To exercise the following functions of a radiographer described as follows:
- To produce radiograph of optimal diagnostic quality
- To minimize wastage of x-ray films, CD, envelopes and all relevant resources.
- To organize work systematically so as to maximize use of the rooms and staff
- Reduce patient waiting time
- To maintain a good team work and conducive working environment.
- To assist the radiologist / radio oncologist in special procedures as and when necessary.
- In C-arm procedures, the image intensifying is to be cleaned and kept in a proper place after every procedure.
- To assist Imaging Manager in preparing the monthly report.
- To extend quality patient related services accordingly described as follows:
- To exercise proper patient care.
- To explain and ensure patient understands the nature of the procedures.
- To inform the patient accordingly on delays in any radiology procedures.
- To check patient’s particulars with the request form and ensure correct procedures are carried out for the right patient.
- To ensure that patients are properly prepared before special procedures.
- To assist radiologist in performing the procedures.
- To ensure equipment’s are functioning properly.
- To operate the equipment’s in a manner that is suitable to its operating procedures.
- To report any malfunction or breakdown of equipment as soon as possible to the Imaging Manager.
- To maintain standards and quality operating procedures described as follows:
- To ensure the department is kept tidy and clean.
- To ensure the bed sheets and the patient gowns are clean at all times.
- To check, keep and maintain all the accessories in designated rooms.
- To ensure strict radiation protection to all patients, staff and the public.
- To prepare the equipment’s and required items for special procedures before the procedure starts.
- To clean the equipment’s and other items after completion of special procedures.
- To ensure that all cassettes and grids are kept clean, arranged and kept in proper place.
- To provide proper and acceptable customer service-related works as follows:
- To project a professional image to the public.
- To exercise courtesy in all manners.
- To assist patients’ family members in enquiries and explanation.
- To assist in answering public enquiries about the services and the hospital.
- To always maintain a helpful and friendly attitude throughout the service period.
- To work as per the rostering and at any particular time as and when required by the operations.
- To ensure safety and proper handling of equipment’s and radioactive sources while working within PETCT hot-lab and while injecting the radio-tracer to PETCT patients.
- To ensure additional charges are billed accordingly by indicating in charge sheet and informing the coordinator after completing the added procedures. To drop charges accordingly in the HIS (Hospital Information System).
- To maintain a neat and tidy appearance and adhere to the grooming requirements.
- To attend trainings / seminars identified by the hospital for the benefit of improving work knowledge and capability.
- To maintain confidentiality for all medical records.
- To perform any other duties as assigned by the Imaging Manager / Division Director / Medical Director / Management.

**Salary**: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
