**FUNCTION**: Corporate and Regulatory Affairs

**SALARY RANGE**:Basic salary + excellent benefits + market leading bonus

**LOCATION**:Damansara City, KL

**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

**Reports to**:Cluster Head of External Affairs

**Reporting Level**:Manage Self & Others

**Geographic Scope**:End Market - Malaysia

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Facilitate and manage regulatory development and implementation of regulatory changes to ensure business sustainability for the Company.
- Formulate robust position papers/presentations/submissions and other materials for stakeholders pertaining to issues facing the industry, such as tobacco and vapour related regulations, illegal products and other trade and commercial issues.
- Facilitate the implementation and enhancement of a constructive stakeholder engagement strategy with key stakeholder and industry associations to pursue balanced regulations.
- Actively build stakeholder relationship and engage on issues of commercial and regulatory interest at business partners, bureaucrats, industry/trade level and other relevant organisations.
- Monitor, analyse and report on developments in the socio-economic, political, and regulatory and legislative arena, including focus on key stakeholders, both locally and regionally which will impact the regulatory environment for the business.
- Lead, drive or support the implementation of projects pertaining to issues facing the industry, such as tobacco and vapour related regulations, illegal products and other trade and commercial issues.
- Support operationalisation of BAT Malaysia strategic direction from a regulatory angle to ensure that all regulatory and reputational risks are managed proactively - particularly for marketing activities and all activities of the Company comply with the relevant laws and good governance practices.
- Manage the day-to-day management and operations within Corporate and Regulatory Affairs department to ensure all initiatives are carried out within agreed plan, timelines, and budget and with proper management of resources.
- Provide counsel to other functions in ensuring adherence to local regulations and internal standards.

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide advice and counsel to peers, and senior management on regulatory matters.
- Good writing skills i.e. able to draft position/submission papers to Government or external stakeholder organization.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Good understanding of legislative process, regulatory development process in Government, knowledge of regulatory trends and its potential impact on business.
- University or professional degree in Political Science, Law or Management.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in policy making, regulatory or Government affairs work.
