Req ID: 127510 Remote Position: Hybrid Region: Asia Country: Malaysia State/Province: Kedah City: Kulim **General Overview**: Functional Area: Supply Chain Management (SCM) Career Stream: Supply Chain Management (SCM) Role: Specialist (SPE) Job Title: Specialist, Material Costing and Awards Job Code: SPC-SCM-MCA Job Level: Level 08 Direct/Indirect Indicator: Indirect **Summary**: The Specialist, Material Costing and Awards receive, process, negotiate & submit material cost solutions for new business opportunities (bids & awards) & manage appropriate validation of customer re-pricing. **Detailed Description**: - Manages supplier RFQ process for specific Commodity group(s) across multiple projects to ensure all costing due dates are achieved. - Lead component level supplier negotiations to establish competitive cost solutions. - Drive supplier growth scorecard performance improvement. - Commodity expertise - in depth knowledge of key commodity price drivers & sensitivities, performs general pricing & supply market trend analytics. - Supplier expertise - understands key suppliers and develops effective supplier relationships - Develop & execute commodity strategy including competitive benchmarking, delivering a commodity strategy enabling the overall program strategy, supplier analysis, development & selection. - Able to identify and justify alternate component solutions. - Able to provide competitive cost estimate for complex parts (Bid only) - Provides insight and recommendations to support proposed solutions to key stakeholders. - Updates material prices database, analyzes components for competitiveness and customer compliance, review with management. - Drives continuous improvement initiatives - Updates material prices database, analyzes components for competitiveness and customer compliance, review with management - Drives continuous improvement initiatives **Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**: - Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills to enable ongoing incremental results - Ability to proactively resolve issues & problems internally and externally - Relentless focus on continuous improvement - Delivers flawless execution with an effective management system - Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management - Ability to effectively project manage, influence and motivate a diverse group of team members, potentially based in multiple countries - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers - Excellent negotiation skills. - Able to work assertively cross-functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives - Supply Chain experience - Commercial aptitude & awareness at component, commodity level or industry level. - Able to compare products and identify feature and technical differences. - Read and can understand technical drawings - Supplier Knowledge - Preferred Supplier Listings / Associated alternatives / Component Part Numbering / Franchised Distribution - Strong technical experience with associated commodity - Strong systems skills, including common office platforms such as MS Office and Access. - Ability to consolidate, manipulate and analyze large quantities of data. **Physical Demands**: - Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. - Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. - Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required - Overnight Travel : Occasional > 5% of the time **Typical Experience**: - 3 - 6 years experience (aligned to position seniority) in purchasing, commodity or engineering environment **Typical Education**: - Bachelor’s degree in related field (Commerce or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Supply Chain Management designation would be an asset - Business or Engineering related degree, 3 - 6 years experience (aligned to position seniority) in purchasing, commodity or engineering environment **Notes**: Celestica is an equal opportunity employer.
