Regional Safety Coordinator

The Regional Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety and health programs within its territorial to ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment for employees. They work closely with management, employees, and various departments to promote safety awareness, compliance with regulations, and the prevention of accidents and injuries. Duties and responsibilities Implement safety policies and procedures: The coordinator is responsible for implementing safety protocols and guidelines to align with HQ Safety and Health management system. - Conduct safety inspections and audits: Regularly inspecting the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety standards is a crucial aspect of the role. They may conduct safety audits and investigations following incidents or accidents. - Training and education: Organize and deliver safety training programs for employees to increase their awareness of safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of safety equipment. - Hazard identification and risk assessment: Collaborate with departments to assess potential hazards in their areas and develop risk mitigation strategies. - Incident reporting and analysis: The coordinator is responsible for managing the reporting and investigation process for workplace accidents and incidents to prevent future occurrences. - Regulatory compliance: Stay up to date with relevant occupational health and safety regulations and ensure the organization is compliant with clients, local, state, and federal requirements. - Emergency preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and procedures, conduct drills, and coordinate with emergency services to ensure the organization is prepared for potential emergencies. - Safety communication: Facilitate effective communication regarding safety matters, including safety meetings, newsletters, and other channels to keep employees informed and engaged. - Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and corrective actions taken. - Continuous improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve safety processes, systems, and procedures within the organization. Qualifications and requirements - A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health, or a related field is typically required, or - Attended any competency certification related to occupational safety and health such as Safety and Health Officer Course, Site Safety Supervisor Course or Safety Coordinator Course - Fresh graduate or has an experienced in telco industries related to safety site audit and inspection, client engagements and reporting. - Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization. - Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. - Attention to detail and a proactive approach to prevent potential hazards. - Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify safety issues and propose appropriate solutions.
