**Job Title**: Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarian (Day/Night Shift)
**Role Summary**:
We are looking for a passionate **Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Veterinarian** to join our team in delivering high-quality, life-saving medical care to small animals and exotic pets suffering from trauma, poisoning, or acute illness. This role involves conducting clinical assessments, diagnostic procedures, emergency surgeries, and implementing tailored treatment plans.
You will work closely with ECC colleagues and specialists, ensure detailed patient records, and provide compassionate communication with pet owners. A strong work ethic, high clinical standards, and a drive for continuous learning are essential.
**Reporting To**: Department Specialist
**Position Type**: Full-Time
**Work Hours**:
- **Day Shift**: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (3-day work week, including weekends and public holidays)
- **Night Shift**: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (3-day work week, including weekends and public holidays)
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Deliver critical and emergency veterinary care during assigned shifts
- Join daily shift-change rounds to discuss inpatients
- Manage emergency consults and follow-ups for day and night cases
- Perform physical exams, diagnostics (TFAST, AFAST, radiographs, CT scans, bloodwork), and emergency procedures
- Stabilize patients with urgent or life-threatening conditions
- Prescribe treatments and medications based on diagnostic findings
- Collaborate with veterinary specialists and nursing staff for optimal outcomes
- Communicate clearly with pet owners on diagnoses, care plans, and next steps
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
- Coordinate care between departments and liaise with referring clinics
- Handle high caseloads calmly and efficiently
- Uphold professional and ethical standards in veterinary practice
- Participate in training and continuing education for ECC development
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- ECC certification is an advantage
- Experience in endoscopy/gastroscopy is preferred
- Veterinary degree must be recognized by the **Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) Singapore**
